Custom Textures on Wod Models wotlk

Hello

I recently downloaded the updated character models for wotlk, really enjoying them, but I wondered if it was possible to use the nude texture mod I had, that's intended for retail.
So I downloaded an editor and loaded the files in to a MPQ, to try and see if I could get them working ingame. But I just ended up with green textures on the body.

So I browsed the internet in search of an answer. Found out that you needed to change the texture files to an indexed format, for them to work.
So I did, But now the game just crashes and gives me a wow error, if I try running the game with the MPQ loaded. Hope you people here might have some knowledge too enlighten me abit.

Getting the same error with a reshape mod by moogan, although mine turn teal and spasm out because I already have the WoD models from Legion installed on 3.3.5a. Without them I get the same error as you.

I bet that i have alot to fix on it... Have never really tried modding before. Also the reason there is only night elf in there, is because i tried to fix it with one first. also the upload took like 5min on my network... its so crap

Ps if you get any info good or bad. plz tell me so i dont get my hopes up.

@gabsuslol I know about this problem. Some of the NPC aren't done yet.

I took this patch from Warmane client, so their devs should be purged for that :D

I'll redo this work in my own way in the nearest future, when the WoW Blender Studio will be finished.

All the files and patches will be decrypted, so there will be no problem to extract and change it.

For better results, you just need to wait, as I said.

Btw warmane use my work (just the player models not the npc´s, but im sure they add them from another one) without any  mention. They just edit two id´s and said that their devs make a big cool work.

This faces are older "bugs" and need no big 3D model fix.

What u see there is a new model with a old texture. Nothing else.

Btw they are the reason why i fucked my patch up.

Yeah, I see it. Looks like it's a stolen patch (yours).

I will make an own patch soon, so maybe I will ask you for some help.

Character models are a pain as fuck^^. You need to edit each model in blender, fixing all stuff by hand and edit thousands of textures.

And btw i have no idea how to handle the new .skel files. But ya ask questions if you have.^^"

 

Btw. maybe the new blender studio could fix the .skel and "byhand fixing stuff" . This would save a lot of time and tears^^

Yeah, skel file format is already supported ?

We just need to wait and help to Skarn as much as we can. Presumably release coming on winter.
