Hi ! Thank you for this work. Do you have any comment about the changes in the M2 format between now and Legion ? Was there anything disturbing ? Do you think a lot of features have been trashed in the process ?

Hi. It is the same as WoD except for one part. The wiki says that on some models there is a new magic MD21 instead of MD20. If the magic is MD21 models have some new chunks but I have never met such an .m2 so far. Everything converted without any problems using a usual converter.

I will also reupload the patch next week when I have proper internet. A new listfile came out yesterday which has much more files.

Legion\7LG_Legion_CommandCenter01.wmo

has a problem when you come near it the wall disappear

WMOs currently have some problems. I will fix it in the next version of the release. I think I will upload it on weekend.

Will this work on cata? If not, do you have an unconverted version?

No, it won't. I have it but I can't upload it now.

Can you describe the process you did for converting them?

CataM2ToLk.exe + batches to run it on every .m2 file and remove _lk things and rename them.

WMO Converter 010 editor script + similar batch to run on every .wmo.

I'm having some problems with the textures not being read out correctly on a lot of WMO's, also some M2's. Is that due to the fact that some of them might not be working correctly yet, or is there some way to fix that?

It will look fine ingame. Happens to most Cata+ WMOs in Noggit. No fix required, also can't help with displaying them properly in the editor.

I just downloaded the file and all the m2 files work fine, but none of the wmo models work (Spawn in noggit), Is there a way to fix this?

Do they crash or what?

No, they just didn't spawn in but I've fixed it now. Another problem, in-game half of the objects are just green, thinking this is a texture issue but not sure on how to fix it.

I am not sure how to help you. I don't have time to do this release now, I guess I will better make a conversion tutorial. Once and forever. A detailed one containing all batches and scripts. I just want to kep retro-porting as an additional thing to newer expansion modding unless or if we get a full functional map editor for newer expansions.

I appreciate the effort, but I think showing us how to convert Legion files over to WotLK would be more helpful in the future when a larger listfile is available.

Well thanks, but like I said without knowing how to convert the files it makes no difference.

In the build I took those models from it was nothing different from WoD models. So, basically just a bunch of public converters and scripts by PhilipTNG. Ah, and also simple batches to run the executables on every file of a certain file type in a folder structure.

Well ya see, I use the same converters, and for some reason the models aren't adhering to the standard M2 templates people use in 010 Editor, and they give me errors in-game, so the converter doesn't seem to be working 100% on all files. Granted, I tried to convert over a creature model, and maybe those are a bit different in Legion than standard object m2s.

IS this to use them ingame (like adding gameobjects, or just to use in noggit?)

It does not matter. For game objects you'd have to include them to a DBC file which I have not done as i do not use gameobjects for building things.
